Prince's Cowboy series was created by photographing Marlboro advertisements and cropping them so that no text or logos appear in the final image. This is not a copy of an actual Prince, but rather a copy of his process. To make the piece, I scanned, cropped, and retouched a Marlboro ad from a copy of Interview magazine.
