The original "Fred Tomaselli" Bootlegs contained actual pills (and pill-shaped candies) under a coat of polyester resin. These pieces proved too costly and difficult to continue manufacturing, so I created a later version with a print replacing the real pills and several layers of thick acrylic varnish instead of resin. In the second version, the pills and leaves were a paper print that was collaged onto the canvas, but now I have them printed directly onto the canvas, which is then varnished to simulate the finish on a "real" Tomaselli painting.
