The Eric Doeringer Costume is based on football team mascots and Disney World characters. I used the costume as a combination of promotion for my MFA thesis show and performance art.
The week before the exhibition, I wore the costume and passed out handbills advertising the show in several high-traffic areas in Boston. I had four different flyer designs: two advertised the exhibition as an MFA thesis show and two advertised it as a "Giant Home Decorator Sale" and "Starving Artist Blowout". I posed for photographs with tourists and was harassed by locals. |
